After 20-plus years of newspaper industry experience, Frank Moraga has embarked on a new phase of his communications career, working with clients to use the latest technology to reach their audience. No matter the delivery method (blogs, mobile devices, podcasts, web) consumers still require the highest in quality content, information they can use to make their lives better in these challenging economic times. His experience as a business editor, news writer and columnist provides companies the perspective they need to reach new consumers of their products and services. Frank previously worked for such California publications as the Ventura County Star, the Oxnard Press-Courier, the Los Angeles Daily News and the Orange County Register. He is a lifetime member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, a member of the Vision Committee of Destino: The Hispanic Legacy Fund, past board member of El Concilio del Condado de Ventura, and a past member of the scholarship selection committee for the Ventura County Community Foundation. He earned business editing, Latino marketing and other certificates from the American Press Institute and has trained journalism students and interns in writing, newspaper design and video production. In June 2009, he receive a recognition award for his diversity efforts presented by CCNMA: Latino Journalists of California. He has received recognition awards from El Concilio (2006, 2007), an appreciation award from the Ventura County Promotoras y Promotores Foundation (2007) and a Congressional Reconition Award presented by Rep. Lois Capps (2004) for volunteer work on El Concilio's Breakthrough Now Youth for Success program. |
